What solution do you choose to treat acne scar ?

Acne scars are usually referred to inflammatory spots on the skin that form when skin pores are filled with bacteria, dead skin cells and excessive oil. The pores swell which causes a gap in the follicle wall.  If these changes cause a deep gap in the follicle wall, the contaminated materials can penetrate the surrounding tissue and cause further complications.  Skin tries to remove acne scar and repair itself by creating a new collagen fibers. However, these repaired parts are not usually as soft as the original skin.

What solution do you choose to treat Acne scars

There are different ways to cure acne scar. These treatments can provide immediate results and some of them can have side effects. We provide a list of safe treatments below for those individuals who prefer to select a safe solution.

The acne scar can be found in two forms:

  • Scars with gradual inclination
  • Deep and narrow scars

Before treating the acne scars, the acne itself should become under control.

Different solutions can be useful for treating acne scar:

Most of the treatments depend on the severity of the scars and wounds themselves. In some cases, the dermatologist may suggest the chemical chemotherapy, dermabrasion and other new methods to treat the affected parts and improve their appearance.

  • Acne laser therapy: This method can be performed in a clinic and under supervision of a dermatologist. Through this technique, laser removes the upper layer of affected skin and weaken the middle layer so that the skin would look softer. This procedure can take from a few minutes to an hour. The dermatologist will try to reduce any sort of pain with the help of local anesthesia. It usually takes skin 3 to 10 days to recover completely.
  • Dermabrasion: This treatment is performed by the help of a diamond swirling to remove upper layers of skin. While skin is healing, a new soft layer of skin will be replaced by the older one. It can take a while for skin to completely heal from the procedure.

Different solutions can be useful for treating acne scar

  • Fraxal laser: This type of treatment targets the deeper layers than other methods such as normal laser and dermabrasion. Since farxal laser does not damage the outer layer of the tissue, the recovery time is shorter. Those who choose this treatment may have a darker skin for a couple of days after.
  • Surgery: Finally, in some cases, the doctor may suggest and perform surgery to remove the deep wounds.

To prevent acne scars, it is better not to use fancy facial masks or lotions, this method is not helpful and instead they can cause redness and inflammation on your skin, which can sometimes worsen the situation.

If you have a red or brown scar on your face as a result of deep acne, it should eventually be erased. However, it may take more than 12 months. If you feel uncomfortable about the acne scar, it is better to talk with a dermatologist to get advices on what you can do.

Summary:

When the hair’s follicle or skin’s pores are filled with oil or other waste products, acne can occur. This is a great situation for bacteria to grow and cause inflammation and redness. Therefore, if the scar is due to deep acne, you should look for proper treatments such as dermabrasion, laser therapy and… to treat your acne scar.
